HOUSING FAIR HIGHLIGHTS NEIGHBORHOODS
ON BALTIMORE'S POPULAR EAST SIDE
Prospective Buyers Tour Neighborhoods and Get Expert Advice on  Home Buying;  $3,000 Grants Available

BALTIMORE, MD – September 9, 2004 - To help prospective homebuyers take advantage of continuing low mortgage rates, the Live Baltimore Home Center and the City of Baltimore Department of Housing and Community Development will host the sixth annual Buying into Baltimore Home Buying Fair and Neighborhood Tours.

This semi-annual fair on Saturday, September 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. will introduce over 1,000 people from Maryland and Washington, D.C. to residential neighborhoods in the eastern region of Baltimore City. The event provides prospective homebuyers with all the information and resources they need to purchase a home in some of the city's most appealing eastside neighborhoods, including Charles Village, Riverside Park, Lauraville, Patterson Park and Original Northwood.

"There is no other home-buying event of this scale, with this level of cash incentive, in any city that we have found yet," said Tracy Gosson, executive director of the Live Baltimore Home Center. "This fair will showcase a variety of affordable homes throughout the eastern area and take participants off the main thoroughfares to really get a feel for these neighborhoods."

The fair will take place at Baltimore City College, 3220 The Alameda at 33rd Street. Participants will take part in guided tours of neighborhoods, view listings and open houses for
sale, and get advice from more than 25 exhibitors, including local real estate agents, mortgage
lenders and community-based, non-profit organizations.

The Live Baltimore Home Center is a nationally recognized, independent non-profit organization committed to promoting the benefits of Baltimore City living. Each year, Live Baltimore provides thousands of individuals with information on more than 125 city neighborhoods, financial incentive programs, historic tax credits and special events.
