Live Baltimore Team BiographiesAnna Custer, Executive Director![]() Anna Custer has been the Executive Director of the Live Baltimore Home Center since March 2007. She is responsible for the organization’s strategic direction and funding and looks forward to building upon Live Baltimore’s successful marketing programs. Anna’s career background includes leadership positions in media and community development. Originally a television reporter, she’s also worked in public relations for a Fortune 100 company and led two successful nonprofit organizations, The Greater Cumberland Committee in Western Maryland and the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce in Illinois. The Cumberland, MD native graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Marietta College in Ohio and received her Master’s degree in public affairs reporting from the University of Illinois in Springfield. Anna is a graduate of Leadership Maryland and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Institute on Organization Management. She currently serves as a board member for CLIA (Community Law in Action), Maryland’s HOBY (Hugh O’Brian Youth) Leadership Seminar and holds strong interests in anti-drugs efforts, positive youth leadership and healthy community initiatives. A former resident of Fells Point and now a new homeowner in Patterson Park, Anna loves the eclectic neighborhoods, diverse nightlife and the vibrant people who make Baltimore unique.
Teresa Stephens, Marketing Director![]() Teresa Stephens joined Live Baltimore as Marketing Director in June 2007. Her responsibilities include overseeing our marketing and efforts for the Washington, DC and BRAC (Base Realignment Closure) campaigns, Membership programs and consumer traffic-generating programs. Born in Baltimore, Teresa came to Live Baltimore with more than 10 years of experience in community relations, public affairs and marketing. Teresa is a graduate of Frederick Douglas Senior High School and West Virginia State University where she received her Bachelors of Art degree in English. Teresa is a Master Gardener through the University of Maryland’s Cooperative Extension Service. She enjoys living in Marble Hill with her husband and two sons.
Julie French, City Living Resource Specialist![]() Julie French joined Live Baltimore as City Living Resource Specialist in October 2007. While first being introduced to Live Baltimore as a volunteer at two "Buying into Baltimore" events, she is thrilled to be able to promote City Living to new and potential neighbors. Count on Julie to provide excellent customer service, work closely with our members and Ambassadors and even teach a few classes! A native of Baltimore, Julie is a graduate of Bryn Mawr High School and Vassar College in New York where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology. She loves animals and gardening and volunteers with the Friends of Ronald McDonald House in Baltimore City. She enjoys living in Cheswolde with her cat and chinchilla.
Steven Gondol, BRAC Relocation Manager![]() Steven Gondol joined Live Baltimore in July 2007 as the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Relocation Manager. BRAC means thousands of people will be moving to Maryland and it is Steven’s focus to recruit them as Baltimore City residents! He markets the City and coordinates relocation activities for military and defense industry professionals, many of whom will be relocating from New Jersey and Northern Virginia to Aberdeen Proving Ground and Fort George G. Meade respectively. Steven’s belief is echoed by many: Baltimore City is poised to be an excellent home for the bases’ many employees and their families, while providing services and a quality of life second to none! Steven’s background includes a mix of urban planning with several years of military and federal planning experience as well as local involvement on neighborhood committees and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Maryland. A native of Youngstown, Ohio, Steven is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelors of Urban Planning degree. He and his wife reside in Patterson Park, where they are active in their neighborhood association. They enjoy the park’s amenities just outside their door, and they also like the convenience of various social, cultural, and educational opportunities only minutes away. Anna Nagy, Office Manager![]() Anna Nagy began working with Live Baltimore in 2005 and was named Office Manager in November of the same year. In her job, Anna has the important task of closely watching and managing the money that streams in and out of the organization on a daily basis. She manages Board of Directors communications and office inventory as well as the mailing of the “Welcome to Baltimore” Relocation Kits. Born on Australian soil to U.S. citizens and of Hungarian descent, Anna has traveled the world extensively and might impress you with a conversation in fluent Hungarian or just soothe you with a swell “G’day!” With more than 20 years of sales and marketing experience and a BA in Science, she is able to draw on previous experiences at CycleShark.com and Merritt Athletic Club in her position now. Anna lives in Mount Vernon.
George Teaford, Website & Graphic Coordinator![]() George Teaford joined Live Baltimore as Website and Graphic Coordinator in May 2010. His responsibilities include coordinating all tasks related to the website, creating and editing the weekly E-news, and developing marketing materials. By joining Live Baltimore, George is making his first venture into the non-profit world. He has over 6 years of experience in managing and maintaining websites for commercial companies. A native of Columbus, Ohio, George is a graduate of Beloit College with a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art. He also received a post-baccalaureate degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art. George and his wife moved to Baltimore City in 2002. They have lived in Bolton Hill, Mount Vernon, and currently reside in their first house in Wyman Park with their two Baltimore City cats.
