In the heart of the City, an urban farm: Stalks of corn; trailing vines of winter squash; buzzing bees & greenhouse atop a garage...with sirens whizzing by; news helicopters hovering above; planes flying in/out throughout the day & night. Trouble parking in the crowded lot at the Waverly Farmers Market...but once there, I'm transported to a place where I'm buying fresh produce from the hands of those who grew it...just a few miles away! I sit outside with my husband & identify 17 different types of birds, while an alley cat chases a rat down the street. Someone breaking into my car to steal a crystal ball that hung from my rearview mirror...and the kind neighbors who chip in to help clean up the broken glass. It’s a perfect balance for me!
-Christine, Beverly Hills
