Extreme School Supplies Drive

School bells will soon be ringing again.  Help Live Baltimore provide supplies for the young men and women of Boys Hope Girls Hope.  Boys Hope Girls Hope, the recipient of Extreme Makeover Home Edition’s (EMHE) home transformation, has served Baltimore since 2002.  The organization provides at-risk children with a stable home, positive parenting, high quality education, and the support needed to reach their potential.  The organization is a privately funded, nonprofit organization.  The homes are located in the Overlea/Rosemont East neighborhoods.

You can help in one of three ways:

The school supplies drive will be held July 12-16, as EMHE is constructing the home during this time period.  Supplies donated by the public will go to deserving students, including the residents of the Boys Hope Girls Hope facility and students of the Baltimore City Public Schools.  (A list of requested supplies is below.)  Donations can be dropped off at the following locations:

  • Live Baltimore, 343 N. Charles Street, 1st floor, Baltimore, MD 21201
  • ABC2/WMAR-TV, 6400 York Road, Baltimore, MD 21212
  • EMHE Volunteer Tent, Belvedere Shopping Center, 5830 Hillen Road, Baltimore, MD 21206
  • Mount Pleasant Church and Ministries, 6000 Radecke Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21206

The sites are open Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.  Donations will be accepted through Friday, July 16 at 12 noon for the television taping.

Monetary contributions can be made online.  Contributions will go to the Baltimore City Public Schools’ uniform fund, which provides school clothing to deserving students.  Donations can be made through this secure link on the Baltimore Community Foundation website:  www.bcf.org/?TabId=485.  You can also give directly to Boys Hope Girls Hope online: Boys Hope Girls Hope new.boyshopegirlshope.org/baltimore/DONATE.aspx.
