The following city tax incentives are available from the City of Baltimore.

Owner must be first to occupy new construction
50% credit in first year to 10% in fifth year
Applies to building permits issued after October 1, 1994
Must apply for credit within 90 days of closing and title transfer

- 5 year reduction in increases due to improvements completed
- 100% credit in first year to 20% in fifth year

- 5-year reduction in assessment increase due to rehab
- 100% credit in first year to 20% in fifth year
- Vacant & abandoned for one year
- Up to 4 dwelling units
- Must be owner-occupied

If you're an artist who decides to work in the Station North Arts & Entertainment District, or if you're a property owner who renovates a building for artists or an arts and entertainment purpose, you may be able to take advantage of these special State and City tax benefits:
property tax credit on new construction that is part of a renovated commercial or industrial site
waiver of the admissions & amusement tax
income tax credit for most artistic work generating revenue in the District
