Ayers / Saint / Gross, Inc.

Ayers/Saint/Gross has been providing architectural and planning services since its founding in 1915, specializing in college & university buildings and grounds. With offices in Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, D.C., our 50-person firm serves colleges and universities throughout the country.
Our work is organized into two primary areas - Creating Campuses and Comparing Campuses. Creating Campuses encompasses our project experience, which includes work on over 30 colleges and universities. We have organized our office into three areas of focus - Campus Planning, Academic Buildings, and Student Life Facilities. For information about our projects, please go to the Creating Campuses section of our website. Comparing Campuses is comprised of our scholarly research. Ongoing research projects include a study of the scale and proportions of campuses through a comparison of campus figure grounds and a classroom types study. Please visit the Comparing Campuses section of our website for more information and examples of our research. We believe that the synthesis of experience and research is critical in creating successful buildings and campus plans.
