Getting To & From Washington
When you tell friends and colleagues that you're thinking of buying a home Baltimore,
you will undoubtedly hear a few stories from others who have already taken the leap.
A 45 mile commute may seem like quite a haul, but the 50 minute train ride from Baltimore to Washington actually gives a whole new meaning to "time management." Instead of spending hours to drive 15 miles in suburban VA traffic, you might be reading a book, starting the day's work early or even getting in a few winks. In less than an hour you will be refreshed and ready to start your work day.
The Maryland Area Rail Commuter System (MARC) is fast, convenient, and it's inexpensive
too! A monthly MARC pass costs only $175, and many employers subsidize the cost of
public transportation for their employees. Hop on any of the three Baltimore City train stations (see below) or drive to a convenient park-and-ride lot. For more information about the MARC, Light Rail and bus systems, please visit MTA's official website .
