Two story brick houses with back yards and either front lawns or white marble steps in the Baltimore traditions. Homes are available for ownership or rental. Most are well maintained and available for $45,000 to $55,000. Numerous plans through the South East Development Initiative assist the buyer. Some of the all-brick exterior rowhouses feature stained-glass transom windows and large, second-floor bay windows. Some houses have Formstone facades and wooden cornices. Most have the highly polished marble steps that are a hallmark of Southeast Baltimore, while some houses have double pavements. The average width of homes is 14 feet, but the smallest is 12 feet and the widest at 15 feet. |

We've been around for about eighty years. We know where we've been - we know who we are - we even hope we know where we are going - but don't ask us what we call ourselves unless you want a lively debate. We started as a county suburb of Highlandtown and have been called Highlandtown, East Highlandtown, Highland Hills, Bayview, and The Hill, along with some other names that weren't so nice. Longtime residents call us the Hill. Most people know us as Greektown. Residents and visitors alike know us as a "Great Place To Be." Home of the annual Greek Festival & Greek Parade. St. Nicholas Church is a centerpiece and anchor of the community. |
