Currently, you will find that the Riverside Park area is going through a major revitalization. On almost every street you will see homes being refurbished. There are still many homes with the formstone from the 50's and 60's and original brick homes. With the City focusing on bringing people back to the downtown area, you will find young professionals who work downtown living next door to homeowners who have owned there home for 20+ years. Most of the homes were built in the early 1900's through the 1920's. Each street has quite a mixture of the different styles of the original "Row Home" |
We are very fortunate to have access to 3 great parks. Leone Riverside Park has room for the dog lovers, a large swimming pool, basketball courts, baseball diamonds, enough room for soccer of football in addition to a playground area for smaller children. Only a 7 blocks north is the well known Federal Hill Park, also a great place for dog lovers and it too has a great playground area. Latrobe Park is about 10 blocks east, toward Ft. McHenry. It too offers plenty of baseball diamonds, tennis courts, basketball courts and playground.
Living in Riverside Park, you have everything you would need within walking distance. Southside Market has a Metro, Radio Shack, Blockbuster Video, McDonalds, Subway, Chinese Take Out, Dry Cleaners and a Merrit Gym. A walk to Camden Yards or PSINET stadium is only 20 to 30 minutes. The inner harbor can be walked in 15 to 20 minutes. The heart of Federal Hill is only 9 blocks and you will find the Cross Street Market, local bars/hangouts and plenty of good restaurants. |
