Little Italy is located in the heart of the downtown renaissance in Baltimore. Nestled between the Inner Harbor and Historic Fells Point, you will find a warm and inviting neighborhood where most residents in the community are of Italian descent. The personalities found are always warm, welcoming and colorful. The area boasts more than 20 of Maryland's best Italian restaurants and trattorias. Walking distance from the fine neighborhood is Fells Point, Camden Yards, and, of course, the Inner Harbor. In addition, the water taxi provides shuttle service from Fells Point to/from Little Italy. |

| The feasts of St. Anthony in June and St. Gabriel in August are held around the historic landmark, St. Leo the Great's Church. The church was built in 1880 and survived the Great Fire of 1904. Residents of Little Italy prayed to St. Anthony, asking that the neighborhood be saved. The fire, which destroyed much of Baltimore, miraculously stopped just outside the border of Little Italy. Ever since, each year the neighborhood holds a festival in the name of St. Anthony and celebrates Little Italy's Salvation. The nationally recognized open-air Italian Film Festival is held each Friday during the summer in an al fresco style evening atmosphere with live music and refreshments in the center of Little Italy. This attracts over 2,000 viewers a showing to the Italian-themed movies. The Taste of Little Italy is in September. Beloved Bocci, as long as the court is not covered with snow, can be seen being played year round, including many tournaments. |

| Little Italy was founded in 1849 to serve the growing Italian population. It has flourished and the restaurants have grown from one to over 20. | The Father Rusty Pandola Cultural Learning Center is located in the St. Leo's School Building. Several times per year six week sessions of classes are conducted and open to the public. Classes are offered in Italian language, cooking, baking, photography, bocci ball and other subjects focused around Italian culture. |
