History

2600 Block Wilkens Ave. an historic block; white marble steps abound on Wilkens Ave.; Wilkens Ave. named for William Wilkens a German immigrant who built the Wilkens Hair Factory (where WestSide shopping Center now sits); houses were built for the workers; Wilkens Ave. is Route 1.
