Oakenshawe is a tree-lined, charming, urban neighborhood that has all the benefits of city living – walking distance to stores, restaurants, transportation – as well as the charm of a quiet, tree-lined streets.
I was surprised to discover the large number of families with small children that live in Oakenshawe. I like the energy and vibrancy of the college students that live in and near our neighborhood, which is just 3 blocks from Johns Hopkins. Talk about convenience; I can be downtown in 10 minutes, on I-83 in 5 minutes; I can walk 3 blocks to some really nice restaurants and bookstores; and the Waverly Farmers Market, 2 blocks away, is one of the best in the city. It is amazing how quiet it is at night sleeping in these solidly constructed homes.
