City Living 101

Baltimore is known as Charm City and it’s easy to see why.  We’re family friendly and from seniors to singles, there is a wealth of things to do, places to visit, and activities to match everyone’s interest.  More and more people are realizing our charm.

And they're relocating from all over the world to enjoy our picturesque Inner Harbor, family owned restaurants, quaint corners of green space, diverse communities and sensible cost of living.

Artists

The City is alive with the arts!  Artists find a supportive community of enthusiasts here where they can create and grow their craft, their network and their livelihoods.

Baby Boomers

City Living offers a healthy lifestyle where you can walk to enjoy arts, culture and music, and meet with friends or family for varied cuisine.

Civic Engagement

There are many ways to get involved in making our city better, while having fun and meeting other like-minded Baltimoreans.  You can make a difference in Baltimore!

Diversity

Many of our neighborhoods reflect our diverse traditions and cultures.  One way that we celebrate and share is through the annual Showcase of Nations Ethnic festivals, including African American Heritage Festival, Caribbean-American Carnival, FestAfrica, Greek Folk Festival, Latino Fest Russian Festival and Ukranian Festival.

Family Life

The multi-generational families thriving in neighborhoods all across our City are a testament to the fact that Baltimore City living is not just for young adults or singles.

GLBT

Baltimore’s thriving GLBT community includes community centers, cultural and arts groups, two newspapers, and one of the oldest Pride celebrations in the country

Green Living

In September 2008, SustainLane ranked Baltimore as one of the top 10 most sustainable cities in the country.  The City has thousands of acres of parkland, recreation centers and even four public golf courses!  Many of our local restaurants use local food sources, we have thriving farmers markets and a growing Community Supported Agriculture movement.

Pets in the City

We are a walkable City with lots of green space and no one enjoys that better than your pets.

Seniors

With the culture, history, accessibility and outstanding health care options, Baltimore is a great place for our valued senior citizens.  Housing for seniors in Baltimore City ranges from independent apartments of multi-generational family homes to at-home care, from assisted living to continuing care retirement facilities.  It's a great time to experience Baltimore City!
