Are you an artist?  Check out our resources for artists in the city

Art is all around us in Baltimore.  From murals on buildings and wacky window shrines, Baltimore is a mix of the past and the present, the "kitsch" and the cultural all in one.  Beautifully polished marble steps, painted screens and incredible architecture are all a part of the allure of Charm City.  Baltimore City’s thriving arts scene includes international festivals and events like Artscape, the largest free public arts festival in the country!

Admission is always free to the public at the Baltimore Museum of Art and the Walters Art Museum!  There are many community art galleries, music and performance venues such as the Patterson Theater in Highlandtown.  The city has a rich history of African-American arts and culture; one place to learn about this history and to experience contemporary music is at the Eubie Blake National Jazz Institute and Cultural Center.  Performance venues range from Broadway shows at the Hippodrome Theatre to professional theater at Center Stage, to many local community theaters in the neighborhoods across the city.

It’s no surprise that Rolling Stone Magazine named Baltimore “Best Scene” in their April, 2008 Best of Rock issue. The Citypaper weekly calendar will guide you to many different types of live music every night of the week, as well as clubs where you can experience homegrown Baltimore Club music.  You can also get ½ price tickets to many events through the Baltimore Fun Guide.
